Interview with Thomas Corley, CPA, author of the book Rich Habits
Mike Carruthers:
When you compare wealthy people with people who don’t have money you find that…
Thomas Corley, CPA:
Their daily activities are just completely different in many respects and I summarized these difference into what I call 10 common success habits that wealthy people have.
Financial advisor Tom Corley, author of the book Rich Habits
76% of the wealthy engage in 30-45 minutes of reading each day for self-improvement or for education or career related. They do this to make themselves what I call “unfireable” they make themselves either more valuable to their employer or their customers and it helps them identify opportunities. Conversely only 12% of the poor of my study actually engage in this daily self-improvement reading and it gets even worse. Only 11% of the poor individuals, poor parents, make their kids read outside of school.
Another thing wealthy people do is they set goals differently.
They actually have a different definition of a goal than everybody else. To wealthy people a goal is only a goal when there is some physical activity associated with it.
And strong relationships are also necessary because achieving wealth is very difficult to do on your own.
73% if the rich network or volunteer 5 or more hours per month, only 4% of the poor have this rich habit.
