Mike
Carruthers: Here's a pop quiz question for you: In what state
is the statue of liberty? Did you say New York? Joey
Green: It's actually located in New Jersey. The island that the
statue of liberty is built on is a part of New Jersey. And the island is leased
by the state of New York. Joey
Green, author of the book
Contrary to Popular Belief, says the ostrich does not bury its head in the
sand. If they're
scared they will put their heads down on the ground, which from a distance looks
like they've buried their head in the sand. In
the original Wizard of Oz, Dorothy does not wear ruby slippers. Dorothy
does wear slippers in the movie The Wizard of Oz. but the movie is based on the
book by L. Frank Baum and in the original book The Wizard of Oz, Dorothy wears
silver shoes. No ruby slippers anywhere in the book, so we've all come to believe
something that was changed by Hollywood. And
what would you say is the world's tallest waterfall? Niagara Falls? It
is not Niagara Falls - it is Angel Falls, which is in the southeast part of Venezuela.
And Angel Falls is twice the height of the Empire State Building and twenty times
as high as Niagara Falls. In
the movie Casablanca, Humphrey Bogart never says, "Play it again Sam".
And he never
said that in any movie and most people would think, if asked, that he said that
in the movie Casablanca. Ingrid Bergman in the movie does say, "Play it Sam",
but no one in the movie ever says "Play it again Sam."
